Case studies · Delivered CRA work

Executed cybersecurity compliance, not just capability

We have delivered CRA and industrial cybersecurity work for manufacturers across industrial drives, HVAC and building automation, industrial weighing, energy systems, refrigeration, and process control.

Engagements have ranged from documentation gap analysis to IEC 62443 compliance support in product development, and from prestudy workshops to secure firmware update capability.

Danfoss Drives – IEC 62443 SL1 readiness

Security Level 1 readiness on the VLT® platform and MCT10 configuration tool, without hardware redesign. TÜV SÜD audit passed with no major issues.

What we deliver

Executive consulting, organizational, and product cybersecurity support

Each area works individually. Together they cover the full path from introductory workshops with a specialist to a signable EU CRA Declaration of Conformity.

Executive consulting

For decision-makers

  • CRA Master Class. Workshop-based training on CRA objectives, roles, timeline, and organizational implications.
  • CRA consultation. Experience sharing from industrial device development. For boards and executive teams navigating scope decisions.

Organizational & processes

For CISOs and R&D leadership

  • CRA gap analysis and documentation. Requirement-by-requirement coverage mapping. Prioritized gaps.
  • Threat analysis and risk assessment. Structured review with mitigation recommendations.
  • Group-wide CRA program coordination. External support for the program owner rolling out CRA across subsidiaries and R&D units.
  • CRA implementation and operation playbook. Senior engineer working alongside your product team. Simplified operating playbook your employees consult day-to-day.

Product cybersecurity

For product engineering teams

  • CRA documentation readiness assessment. Gap analysis and next step recommendations.
  • Product cybersecurity risk assessment. Intro training, template development, real product risk assessment. Covers architecture, use-cases, assets, and threats.
  • CRA documentation preparation. Senior engineer joins your product development team on-site for workshops, feedback and know-how exchange.
  • Product security controls & SBOM implementation. Create the missing items in software and product documentation to satisfy the EU DoC.

HOW A PRODUCT-LEVEL ENGAGEMENT RUNS

Fixed scope to start. Scoped once we know what you need.

Every product-level engagement begins with Phase 1 – a fixed-scope assessment. Everything after that is shaped by what Phase 1 finds.

You get a clear view of what remediation and implementation will actually require before you commit to either.

The endpoint every product-level engagement is built to reach: a signing-ready EU CRA Declaration of Conformity.

FAQ

Everything you need to know

Partly, and it already does. Since 11 September 2026, manufacturers must report actively exploited vulnerabilities and severe incidents in their products, including products already sold. The full requirements, including conformity assessment and CE marking, apply from 11 December 2027.

For an actively exploited vulnerability: an early warning within 24 hours of becoming aware, a notification within 72 hours, and a final report within 14 days after a fix or mitigation is available. For a severe incident: the same 24-hour and 72-hour steps, and a final report within one month of the 72-hour notification.

No. Manufacturers must handle and report vulnerabilities throughout a product’s support period. That makes CRA ongoing work for engineering, product management and support, not only documentation.

The CRA is EU law; IEC 62443 is a series of international standards for industrial cybersecurity. Meeting IEC 62443 doesn’t automatically make a product CRA-compliant, but the work overlaps: secure development processes and component security requirements produce much of the evidence the CRA expects.
